According to the Announcement regarding Signing of the Articles of Association in the Trade Registry Directorates dated 06.12.2016, the authorized person of the company who resides abroad is obligated to acknowledge their signature declarations in the Turkish Consulates. However, in practice, Turkish Trade Registry has being accepted notarized and apostilled signature declarations which are acknowledged in the local notary offices in where the authorized persons of the company reside. In March 2020, Turkish Trade Registry Directorates changed their practice and started not to accept the signature declarations which are obtained from the local notary offices.
After the difficulties both authorized persons and companies faced, an important change has been made in the Announcement via the new Announcement published in the Official Gazette dated 22.07.2020. Accordingly, we are pleased to announce to you that Trade Registry Directorates shall accept the notarized and apostilled signature declarations which are acknowledged in the local notary offices in where the authorized persons of the Company reside, as well as the previous practice. Thus, there will be no need for authorized persons to have the signature declarations certify in the Turkish Consulates.
We hope that the new amendment will facilitate the corporate works of the companies before the Turkish Trade Registry Directorates.
