With the Communiqué on Redetermination of Minimum Shareholders' Equity Amounts of Payment and Electronic Money Institutions (“Communiqué”) published in the Official Gazette dated 27.01.2024 and numbered 32442, the equity amounts specified in the article titled "Minimum Equity Obligation and Professional Liability Insurance" of the Regulation on Payment Services and Electronic Money Issuance and Payment Service Providers ("Regulation") were increased.
- Services for Intermediation of Invoice Payments
The minimum equity requirement for institutions providing intermediary services for bill payments, which was set at TRY 7,000,000 for 2023, was increased to TRY 10,000,000 as of 2024.
- Other Payment Institutions Other Than Payment Service Providers
The minimum shareholders' equity requirement for other payment institutions, except for those that provide online platforms for
the provision of consolidated information on one or more payment accounts of the payment service user with payment service providers, was set as TRY 15,000,000 for 2023 and TRY 20,000,000 for 2024, provided that the approval of the payment service user is obtained.
- Electronic Money Institutions
The minimum equity requirement for electronic money institutions, which was set at TRY 41,000,000 in 2023, was increased to TRY 55,000,000 in 2024.
This Communiqué will enter into force as of 30.06.2024.
